Bradford home transformed for winter

Back

A Bradford resident will be warmer this winter thanks to Better Homes Bradford and Bradford Council.

Mark Mortimer from Shipley has lived in his two-bedroom property for 15 years and struggled to keep warm due to a damaged and old boiler – Mark often had to wear additional clothing to keep the cold at bay.

After being referred to Better Homes Bradford through the Green Doctor scheme, the Better Homes Bradford team carried out a survey of his property and, with help from Bradford Council, found that it qualified for a new boiler.

If you use your boiler to heat radiators, then most of your home energy cost will be going on fuel. The fuel used to run the boiler is converted into heat, therefore the more efficient the boiler, the less fuel is needed to run it. Mr Mortimer needed a more efficient boiler to help keep his home warm and to reduce fuel bills.

The Better Homes Yorkshire installation team from Scarbrook Heating & Plumbing Ltd fitted the new boiler across two days, ensuring Mr Mortimer’s home would be warm this winter.

Mr Mortimer said: “The whole installation process was very smooth - the guys did a great job. I now have access to hot water instantly and I can already feel a difference in the warmth of my home.”

Steve Batty from Better Homes Yorkshire said: “Mark’s home is a great example of how a boiler replacement can make such a difference. If your home fits the qualifying criteria, then please get in contact with us. A new boiler not only keeps your home warm, it will save energy and cost less to run per month.”
