Research carried out by the Energy Savings Trust and Citizens Advice has revealed over a third of British households are missing out on saving money on their bills by not changing the way they use energy.
The research, carried out during the Big Energy Saving Week last month, has shown a lack of understanding about how to manage energy use and the steps that can be taken to reduce carbon footprint.
A total of 9.7million households have not made any changes to their energy usage. According to the experts, British homes are responsible for around 25 percent of carbon dioxide emissions.
The survey also showed that 87 percent of households believe small changes make little or no difference to their finances.
However according to the Energy Saving Trust, the below three changes alone have the potential to save a household around £100 a year.
