Latest research shows homes lack energy efficiency

Back

Research conducted by the BBC has revealed nearly two thirds of UK homes fail to meet long-term energy efficiency targets.

The results have shown 12million homes across the UK fall below the recommended grade C classification on an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC). An EPC shows how energy efficiency a property is, with ‘A’ being the most efficient and ‘C’ being the average.

In 2018, 65.9million tonnes of CO2 was produced by UK homes – this was more than that produced by power stations.

What can you do to ensure your home is as energy efficient as possible?

Replacing an old boiler can be a great start in making your home more energy efficient and fuel friendly. At Better Homes Yorkshire, we have initiatives available to make the installation of a new boiler or entire central heating systems more affordable with finance options available.
