Better Homes Yorkshire is set to deliver over £6.5million of home improvement works across the Bradford, Calderdale and Leeds areas of Yorkshire as part of the Green Homes Grant Local Authority Delivery (LAD) Scheme.
Councils based in Bradford, Calderdale and Leeds have been successful in securing the funding through the LAD scheme to help improve the energy efficiency of low-income households.
The funding will be used to support low-earning residents living in the least energy efficient homes (those with Energy Performance Certificate band ratings of E, F and G and an annual salary of £30k or less). The work will help to make homes healthier, warmer and cheaper to heat as well as helping to reduce carbon emissions and tackle the climate emergency.
What work can I apply for?
Potential work includes the following:
How long do I have to apply?
The funding is available for a limited amount of time and the work must be completed by March 2021. Residents and landlords are encouraged to apply as soon as possible to ensure the funding can be used most effectively.
I’m a private tenant, can I apply?
Private tenants should speak to their landlord about improvements that can be made and highlight how they can apply for funding to help improve the rental property’s energy efficiency.
