Better Homes Yorkshire has secured funding to install energy efficiency improvements to 450 homes across North Yorkshire, in a bid to reduce residents’ energy bills. What’s more, there’s still time to apply and benefit from this exciting offer.
The funding, which aims to tackle fuel poverty across the Leeds City Region, is being used to target hard-to-heat homes in Craven, Harrogate, Selby and York.
To date, 87 properties have already benefitted from the energy efficiency improvements in North Yorkshire, including cavity wall insulation, loft insulation, external wall insulation, room in roof insulation and the replacement of boilers, making residents’ homes cheaper to heat, as well as healthier places to live and better for the environment.
Want to apply for a grant?
Householders earning a combined income of less than £20,000 a year can apply for 100% funding, while grant funding of 75% is available for those households earning between £20,000 and £35,000.
Landlords can also claim a grant of up to 75% towards the cost of insulation, if their tenants have a combined household income of less than £35,000 a year and qualify for the scheme.
To qualify, homes should have uninsulated cavity walls or minimal loft insulation.
Householders and landlords can call City of York Council’s Housing Standards and Adaptations team on 019040 552300 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to check if they are eligible for assistance. If approved, householders will be offered the energy efficiency improvements on a first-come, first-served basis.
