Better Homes Yorkshire Privacy Notice

When you contact us at Better Homes Yorkshire (a trading name of ENGIE Regeneration Limited) you can be assured that your privacy is important to us. The purpose of this notice is to enable you to fully understand the kind of information that we hold about you when you contact us, why we hold that information, and what we do with it.

 

1. What information will we hold about you?
We will only collect the information that you specifically and knowingly provide to us when you contact us in person, over the telephone, by e-mail, by post, or via our website. These will include;

  • Your contact information including email address and telephone number
  • Any other information that you choose to provide to us.

 

2. Why do you need this information?
We will only collect your information where it is strictly necessary for us to do so. We may collect your information for a variety of purposes which could include, but are not limited to;

  • Where it is in our legitimate interests to hold your information so that we can respond to a request or enquiry from you
  • To enable us to deliver works or services (either directly or through our nominated contractors) that you have entered into a contract with us for
  • To enable us to provide after sales services (where applicable)
  • Where it is in our legitimate interests to hold your information so that we can improve our services or products
  • From time to time, we may also use your information to contact you for market research purposes. We may contact you by email, phone, fax or mail. We may use the information to customise the website according to your interests.
  • We may periodically send promotional emails about new products, special offers or other information which we think you may find interesting using the email address which you have provided.

 

3. What will you do with my information?
Your personal data will only be used for the above purposes by Better Homes Yorkshire, and will be shared within the ENGIE group of companies (including its successors).  Where you enter into a contract with us, we will share your information with our nominated suppliers and contractors in order for us to provide the relevant goods or services. We may also share your information with relevant Local Authorities

When you contact us, we will only retain your personal data only for as long as is necessary to respond to your enquiry. If you choose to enter into a contract with us, we will retain your information for no more than 24 months after the completion of the relevant works.

Where we pass your information to third parties, they will not use your information for general marketing purposes without your consent.

4. Is my information secure?
The ENGIE group is committed to keeping your personal data secure. Your personal data is held by ENGIE Regeneration Limited, on servers located within the European Economic Area. (Please note that in exceptional circumstances your personal data may also be processed by staff outside the EEA who work for one of our suppliers in the provision of support services).

 

5. What are my rights?
If you wish to have access to the personal information that we hold about you, or if you wish us to correct or erase any information that we hold about you, please contact the Data Protection Officer at privacy.uk@engie.com
You may also contact the Information Commissioner’s Office to discuss the manner in which we process your information.

 

6. Cookies

Cookies enable web applications to remember information about you including your preferences, and respond to you as an individual. We use traffic log cookies to identify which pages are being used. This helps us analyse data about web page traffic and improve our website in order to tailor it to customer needs. We only use this information for statistical analysis purposes and then the data is removed from the system.
